Results of Trial Meeting for “New Sakura Japan = Senior Women’s National Team”

Thank you for your help all the time.

Based on the results of Asian Games, women’s Hockey National Team “Samurai Japan” organized a new team that aims for over the 3^rd ranking in World League Semifinal that will be held in Belgium in next June and the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Berth after that.

We held a trial meeting for ”New Sakura Japan = Senior Women’s National Team” in Nara from October 21 to 23 and determined A and B national team members as per the attached document. Based on Tokyo 2020 Target Age Implementation Guideline 2014, this trial meeting provides each generation chances to be selected as a new national team member and in fact, fresh players were selected.

　Senior A members were selected for the purpose of the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Berth, and Senior B members include players whose average age is 20.1 old years old and 3 high school students for the target of Tokyo Olympics 2020.

However, the national members may be changed as the gate to national teams is open widely to players who could not show their potential or participate in this workout due to some reasons. For those players, please keep your hope to join Samurai Japan in the future.

This time, Sakura Japan aims for 4 consecutive Olympic participation with a new head coach “Nagai”.
