Postponement of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games

Japan Hockey Association
President:  Hirofumi Nakasone

To whom it may concern,

Please allow me to begin by extending my heartfelt gratitude for your continued support of the operations of Japan Hockey Association.

On March 24, the extraordinary board of International Olympic Comittee (IOC) permitted to postpone Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics games for a year.

Japan Hockey National Teams “Samurai Japan” and “Sakura Japan” won championship together in the 18th Asian games in 2018, and working hard on the medals in Tokyo 2020 Olympic games as Asian champions.

We would like to once again express our gratitude for great expectations and support from our supporters who love hockey.

Although the Tokyo 2020 Olympics postponement is a great disappointment, we regard it unavoidable under the coronavirus pandemic. We believe that we would be further prepared to strength our teams for this extended time.

We hope that this situation will be recovered as sonn as possible and Olympics and Paralympics games will be held safely. We ask for your continued support and encouragement of all whom support our activities.
