Instead of the Olympic and World Cup Qualifying Round, the World League was established in August, 2012 that all the FIH affliated countries will participate in. In Round 2, 22 countries are separated into 4 places, including the 14 countries winning in Round 1 among the countries ranked below world 17th and the 8 countries from the world rank 9th to 16th. Each top 2 team advances to Round 3 with World Cup Qualifying Round.
