The Japanese Men’s National Hockey Team “Samurai Japan” (World Ranking: WR16) lost to Wales (WR18, 3rd in Preliminary League A) 4-6 in the preliminary round of the 3rd FIH Nations Cup (2025/Kuala Lumpur) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to decide 5th-8th place. Japan advanced to the 7th place playoff and lost to Wales (WR18, 3rd in Qualifying League A), 4-6.

Japan will advance to the 7th place playoff against South Africa (WR11) on June 21 at 14:30 (Japan time). (The start time of the match may be changed depending on the tournament conditions.)
